My Father’s Grave | 2020

In “My father’s Grave” Al Kadiri explores through an autobiographical artist’s book conceived during the first month of the pandemic his family history. Shedding the light on his controversial relationship with his father (1929- 2009 ), The book is visually developed based on an archival photograph of his father and his siblings taken aroud 1934 in Beirut. The broken up Arabic text contains the words: “One day I will visit my father’s grave. It will be like it used to be in the past when he was alive. We won’t exchange a single word.”
